Spotlight: Enjoy great stand-up comedy in downtown DC! Our showcase lineups feature top talent from DC, Maryland, Virginia and beyond, performing on one of the country's most famous stages. You'll see a variety of styles and get up close with some of the stars of tomorrow. Support local talent, support local business and (most important) laugh your a** off. Showcases generally last around 90 minutes.

About the Comics

Stacey Axler

Stacey Axler has been performing regularly since 2021, at shows and clubs throughout DC and Maryland. She has performed in comedy festivals such as the North Carolina Comedy Festival, Solocom in NYC and the Sixth City Comedy Festival. Stacey also hosts a monthly standup show.

Jamel Johnson

Jamel Johnson is a stand-up comedian from Woodbridge, Virginia. He is best known for his recurring role as Rowdy Boudy on the hit MTV series "Undressed." He burst onto the scene while creating the television show "Roc." Years later he successfully won a lawsuit against Jay Z for the name "Roc Nation." He took his earnings and started the Lugz Racing Team and the Lugz Racing Foundation which helps in the fight against Wade Boggs' Disease. One of these sentences is true. After making his television debut in 2016 on Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City, Jamel now performs regularly at several elite coastal and inland comedy establishments all across America. Jamel won Comedy Kumite 5.2 (winter 2016) at the DC Improv.

Ryan Donahue

Ryan Donahue is a comedian, actor, and writer based in NYC. After making his network television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he's made multiple appearances on HBO's Crashing and Pause with Sam Jay, where he is also a staff writer. He's performed at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, and The Great American Comedy Festival held in honor of Johnny Carson. Ryan has opened for Norm Macdonald, Tig Notaro, and his grandparents tell him he should meet David Letterman. If anyone has seen David, please relay this information to him. Thank you.

Rahmein Mostafavi (official website) charms crowds with comic timing and charisma developed during a decade of live performance. He entered the stand-up world after working as a longtime cast member of “Shear Madness,” the acclaimed Kennedy Center improv/comedy whodunit. His natural joke writing ability, combined with his acting chops, have won him rave reviews in both the Washington area and around the country. He also produced events under the “Cool Cow Comedy” banner, bringing live comedy to venues in Maryland and Virginia.

Rahmein has been featured at the Laugh Your Asheville Off comedy festival, The Devil Cup, Red Clay, The Cleveland Comedy Festival, and the Cape May Comedy Festival. Rahmein has been seen on FOX, heard regularly on Sirius XM, was featured in “The Truth About Money” on PBS, and was honored to be a speaker at the world famous TEDx Talks.

Born in Iran, Rahmein moved to the United States with his family at a very young age. He currently resides in Northern Virginia. Rahmein won Comedy Kumite 4.2 (winter 2016) at the DC Improv, as well as two Kumite Tournaments of Champions (fall 2016 and summer 2021).
