Spotlight: Enjoy great stand-up comedy in downtown DC! Our showcase lineups feature top talent from DC, Maryland, Virginia and beyond, performing on one of the country's most famous stages. You'll see a variety of styles and get up close with some of the stars of tomorrow. Support local talent, support local business and (most important) laugh your a** off. Showcases generally last around 90 minutes.

About the Comics

Shelley Kim

Hailing from the mean streets of Southern California, Shelley Kim is a comedian, producer, and content creator now based in DC. Her acerbic, honest material, unique perspective, and charisma has made her stand out in the DC comedy scene. A rising star, Shelley has opened for headliners such as Ramy Youssef, Dulce Sloan, and Judah Friedlander.

Umar Khan

Umar Khan is a Baltimore comedian who has been performing regularly for the past 5 years. He’s become a regular at clubs, colleges, independent shows, and local theaters in the Baltimore and DC areas. He has performed at the Baltimore Comedy Factory, Magooby's Joke House, Creative Alliance Theater in Baltimore, and the DC Improv. Umar has had the opportunity open up for great comedians like Todd Barry and Hari Kondabolu.

Kasha Patel (official website) was listed on Thrillist magazine’s “Best Undiscovered Comedians in the US,” where she was called a unicorn for her uniqueness. She has a witty sense of humor that couples life as an Indian-American and her love for science. She produces science-themed comedy shows through her company DC Science Comedy. She gave a TEDx talk called “Sneaking Science into Stand-Up” where she shares a series of surprising revelations pulled from her analysis of more than 500 of her stand-up jokes. She has been featured in The Washington Post, BBC World News, Travel Channel, The Science Channel, The Weather Channel, and hosted a mini series on NASA TV. Follow her on Twitter @KashaPatel.

Justin Um

Justin Um is an American-born Korean with a natural ability to connect and engage with various audiences through his unwavering happiness. He describes his style of clean comedy as "empathetic humor", which is exhibited by his love and genuine affection for people. He focuses on sharing his unique experiences as a second-generation immigrant through his insightful perspective, self-deprecating honesty, and positive crowd interactions. Justin has hosted for Ian Bagg, Geoffrey Asmus, Matt Fulchiron, Irene Tu, and Ahmed Al-kadri.

Prince Arora

Prince Arora is a DC based comic that hails the attention of crowds by fusing his Indian roots with his American lifestyle. His humorous experiences of culture shock in the workplace, relationships and the day-to-day quirks that come with being an immigrant make people fall in love with his stories and charm. He has performed across the DC comedy scene, universities and recently left his mark at Capital One Hall, opening for India’s #1 comedian, Zakir Khan, for an audience of 1,500 people.

Brittany Carney

Brittany Carney began comedy in DC and is based in New York. Her standup is featured on Comedy Central and Don’t Tell platforms. She has written for That Damn Michael Che on HBO Max, Teenage Euthanasia on Adult Swim, and the Introverts’ Survival Guide on Audible. In 2022, Vulture Magazine listed Brittany as a Comedian You Should and Will Know. This fall she recorded her first special, That Is My Horse, set to release in 2024.
