About the Comics

Joey Coon

Joey Coon is a DMV-based comedian who has performed at the D.C. Improv, Magooby’s Joke House, Rams Head, Church of Satire, Don’t Tell Comedy, the National Cannabis Festival, and countless questionable venues up and down the East Coast. An Army veteran and father of three, Joey turns chaos—domestic and otherwise—into comedy. His material dives into family, war, and the absurdities of everyday life.

Pete Bergen

Pete Bergen will send you home talking. Audiences love his balance of shocking and jaw dropping stories along with vulnerability and self-deprecation. They appreciate his honest commentary about coming from a huge family and his struggles with addiction and weight and his life in recovery. He is also a proud Army veteran.

Kandace Saunders

Kandace Saunders made her comedic debut in 2006 during a comedy competition at the DC Improv. Although, she didn’t win, she didn’t get booed, and people laughed. So for Kandace, that was enough to pursue a career in standup comedy. Kandace’s sarcasm, and quick wit, coupled with her ability to turn life into “extremely laughable situations", has allowed her to become one of today’s fastest rising comedians. Kandace has also served in the Army National Guard.

During the day Haywood Turnipseed Jr. (official website) is a Husband, a Dad, a Telephone Man, and a Jedi; at night he becomes a Stand-Up Comic, and occasionally a Sith Lord. Haywood likes both Michael Jackson's & Prince's Music; Hip-Hop; The Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team; Mambo Sauce on chicken wings; and Laughing. Originally from the Holy Land of Indiana, Haywood graduated from high school in Moon Township, Pa., attended two semesters at Waynesburg College, then enlisted in the US Air Force.

Dewayne White

Dewayne White is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after comics on the scene. Hailing from Washington, D.C., his no-nonsense, East Coast demeanor seamlessly transforms into hilarity on stage. He draws on his experiences as a combat wounded Army vet, husband and father with a no holds barred attitude. With irreverent observations and an infectious energy, Dewayne always delivers an unforgettable evening of laughter. He’s shared the stage with comedy heavyweights like Josh Blue, Mark Normand, Sal Vulcano, and Jo Firestone Dewayne has performed at amazing clubs like Comedy and Magic Club, The Laugh Factory, The Funnybone, and Carolines on Broadway and regularly tours internationally with Armed Forces Entertainment.  His debut comedy special, "A Boy Named Shannon" is out now on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Spotify, and more! Dewayne won Comedy Kumite 45 (spring 2025) at the DC Improv.
