Most importantly, all proceeds go to the Luv u Project, a local nonprofit committed to advancing mental health through action. All patrons must be 21 or older.

Tickets are $75 for advanced purchase or at the door. Doors open at 6:30 and the event will begin at 7:30. Your ticket includes an open bar and buffet. This event is 21+.

uLead is the young professionals initiative of The Luv u Project, a local non-profit whose mission is to turn an unacceptable tragedy into a quantifiable agenda and responsible actions that advance the understanding of, and treatments for, mental health issues. For the third year, uLead is hosting its annual event to fund the Luv u Project's Carolyn C Mattingly Award for Mental Health Reporting in partnership with the National Press Foundation.

This year's event is Stand Up for Mental Health: A night of live comedy at DC Improv. uLead will also present its annual uLeader: Young Professional of the Year Award to an individual making a difference in the field of mental health. Join us on October 16 to raise awareness of mental health issues, network, and laugh the night away with DC's top comics.

Enjoy drinks and dinner, which come with your ticket purchase.

Dominic Rivera

Dominic Rivera is a New Jersey born and D.C. based comedian. He's opened for Patton Oswalt, Andy Kindler and performed at the Kennedy Center's District of Comedy Festival. A father and Air Force Veteran, he's armed with broad shoulders and a healthy dose of sarcasm, which he uses to share life stories about mental health, family and how he interacts with the world around him.

Denise Taylor

Denise Taylor is a stand-up comic who performs all over the DC area. She's wanted to be a comedian ever since her fourth grade teacher called her a "ringleader" for distracting the class with jokes. Denise goes to law school now, where teachers are still frustrated with her. She loves two things: satire and attention.

Rob Maher

Rob Maher is a two time finalist in Comedy Central's Laugh Riot competition, and in 2017 he was featured on “Hart of the City.”. He is a recurring guest on Baltimore's 98 Rock and is a regular performer at the DC Improv, the Richmond and Virginia Beach Funny Bones and Magooby's Joke House. Rob is also one of Armed Forces Entertainment's featured comedians. He's had the great honor of performing shows for our troops all over Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Japan and Egypt. Under the banner of Die Laughing Productions he produces murder mystery comedy shows.
