SPOTLIGHT

In 2017, the DC Improv celebrates its 25th anniversary by remembering the past – and looking to the future. The Next Wave series features rising stars, recommended to us (and you) by some of our favorite DC Improv headliners. These are performers that comedy fans will be talking about for years to come, and this is your chance to see them up close at one of the most respected comedy venues in America.

Tim Dillon is a New York-based comic who’s beyond category. His unconventional takes on society and politics have won critical acclaim (Rolling Stone just named him one of 10 comics you NEED to know), and his podcast “Tim Dillon Is Going to Hell” has been climbing the charts. He’s recommended to you by Christian Finnegan, a DC Improv regular for more than a decade.

OFFICIAL BIO

Tim is a NY-based comic who was a breakout at the 2016 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in the ‘New Faces’ category. Recently he won the title of ‘NY’s Funniest’ at the New York Comedy Festival where he also headlined three sellout shows on a double decker tour bus throughout Manhattan’s wealthiest neighborhoods. Tim has performed on the Oddball Comedy and Oddity Tour, and was featured on NBC’s ‘Last Comic Standing’, ‘The Chris Gethard Show’ on Fusion, Fox’s Red Eye, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, Comedy Knockout for ‘TruTV’, and season 2 of ‘WYFD’ with Big Jay Oakerson for Seeso. He is also the host of his own podcast ‘Tim Dillon is Going to Hell.’

Christian FinneganChristian Finnegan is perhaps best known as one of the original panelists on VH1’s “Best Week Ever” and as Chad, the only white roommate in “Chappelle’s Show’s” infamous “Mad Real World” sketch. He played Martin on the popular syndicated sitcom “Are We There Yet?” and politics junkies will recognize Christian from his many appearances on “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”.

Christian has been a fixture on Comedy Central, having starred in his own one hour stand up special “Au Contraire!”, as well as “Comedy Central Presents”, “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” and countless network interstitials. He’s also appeared on “Conan”, “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”, “Good Afternoon America” and “The Today Show”.

He's been headlining the DC Improv for a decade, with his most recent visit happening in February 2017.
