The Overachievers has grown into one of the top comedy shows in the country. Hosted by local favorite Martin Amini and music by DJ Bo, The Overachievers is a showcase of comedians seen on HBO, Comedy Central, and NBC.

The September lineup includes Tony Woods, Rahmein Mostafavi and Melissa Diaz.

Martin Amini

Martin Amini is a stand up comic based in Washington D.C. and born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. Martin recently made Thrillist's "Best Undiscovered Stand Up Comedian list" and has opened for headliners such as Trevor Noah, Jerrod Carmichael, and Hasan Minaj. Martin's stand-up material touches on what it's like growing up mixed in America coming from an Iranian and Bolivian background. You can watch Martin on the new stand up show "Laff Tracks" on TruTV and “Unprotected Sets" premiering on Epix October 2018 produced by Wanda Sykes.

Tony Woods is a one-of-a-kind comedic legend that is always in control of his audience. A seasoned veteran in the comedy business, Tony is recognized not only by fans but by his peers as one of the best and most engaging comedians in the business. Tony has made a slew of Comedy Central appearances, including Comedy Central Presents Tony Woods, Comedy Central USO Tour, and the Comedy Central World Comedy Tour. He has also appeared on Last Comic Standing, Showtime at the Apollo and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Melissa Diaz

Melissa Diaz

Bronx native Melissa Diaz (New York Comedy Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off) is a unique and rising talent in the New York City comedy scene. Her sharp and quirky wit paired with an edgy attitude takes audiences through a funhouse of fatalism and hilarity that no amount of therapy will make you forget. Melissa is featured regularly at Caroline’s on Broadway, has placed in Devil Cup and Laugh Your Asheville Off competitions, appeared in the New York Comedy Festival and has been named one of NYC’s comics to watch.

Rahmein Mostafavi

Rahmein Mostafavi

Rahmein Mostafavi wins over every crowd with charm, comic timing, and charisma. He addresses heavy social and political topics with brilliant satire, and he also offers hilarious observational comedy about life as an ethnic mutt and father of three. Rahmein has been seen on FOX, heard regularly on Sirius XM, and was featured in “The Truth About Money" on PBS.
