The Overachievers has grown into one of the top comedy shows in the country. Hosted by local favorite Martin Amini and music by DJ Bo, The Overachievers is a showcase of comedians seen on HBO, Comedy Central, and NBC.

Martin Amini

Martin Amini

Martin Amini is a stand up comic based in Washington D.C. and born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. Martin recently made Thrillist's "Best Undiscovered Stand Up Comedian list" and has opened for headliners such as Trevor Noah, Jerrod Carmichael, and Hasan Minaj. Martin's stand-up material touches on what it's like growing up mixed in America coming from an Iranian and Bolivian background. You can watch Martin on the new stand up show "Laff Tracks" on TruTV and “Unprotected Sets" premiering on Epix October 2018 produced by Wanda Sykes.

Jesus Trejo

Jesus Trejo

Jesus Trejo is one of the fastest rising names in the stand-up comedy scene. Trejo taped his first hour stand-up special, "Stay at Home Son," for Showtime in the fall of 2019. He can seen recurring on the Netflix series "Mr. Iglesias," and he also appeared in "Alone Together" (Freeform) and "Teachers" (TV Land). Jesus was selected to be a "New Faces" comedian in 2016 for the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and was named a Variety "Top 10 Comic to Watch" at JFL in 2017. Born and raised in Long Beach, Calif., Trejo is a paid regular at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

Melissa Diaz

Melissa Diaz

Bronx native Melissa Diaz (New York Comedy Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off) is a unique and rising talent in the New York City comedy scene. Her sharp and quirky wit paired with an edgy attitude takes audiences through a funhouse of fatalism and hilarity that no amount of therapy will make you forget. Melissa is featured regularly at Caroline’s on Broadway, has placed in Devil Cup and Laugh Your Asheville Off competitions, appeared in the New York Comedy Festival and has been named one of NYC’s comics to watch.

Dominic Rivera

Dominic Rivera

Dominic Rivera is a New Jersey born and D.C. based comedian. He's opened for Patton Oswalt, Andy Kindler and performed at the Kennedy Center's District of Comedy Festival. A father and Air Force Veteran, he's armed with broad shoulders and a healthy dose of sarcasm, which he uses to share life stories about mental health, family and how he interacts with the world around him.

Walter Alvarado is a stand up comic hailing from the DMV by way of El Salvador. Walter's stand up revolves around his unique perspective growing up in a Salvadoran household and as a latin nightlife promoter.
