Great comics in our 60-seat showroom. Featuring: Martin Amini, Kenny DeForest, Casey Balsham, Pearl Rose, Herbie Gill.

DMV showcases feature excellent up-and-coming performers with ties to the DC-Baltimore area. (Every now and then we also throw in an out-of-towner for fun.) This show is in our 60-seat lounge showroom, and the comedians will perform for a total of around 90 minutes. The Improv's full food and drink menu is available.


Kenny DeForest 

Kenny DeForest is a New York City-based comic best known as a producer and co-host of “Comedy at the Knitting Factory”, widely considered to be one of the best independently run comedy shows in the country, and is a regular presence on the New York City comedy scene at large. He has appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, HBO's "Crashing", and TruTV's "Friends of the People." In 2017, he recorded his debut stand-up album "B.A.D. Dreams" with Comedy Dynamics, and in 2015 he was named one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch." In 2018, he was invited to perform in the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal as a “new face.” Best of all, he has a great deal of fun performing and fun tends to be contagious. Come get some.

Casey Balsham 

Casey Balsham a stand up comedian living and working in New York City. She has appeared on Gotham Comedy Live twice, Lifetime Television, Tidals No Small Talk Series and also in a Monistat commercial that you can only find online. After starting comedy in LA, she moved to New York City where there is also comedy. Clubs, bars, pizza places, and festivals throughout the country all play home to Casey's comedy. She also starred in the Off Broadway Musical about stand up comedy, HA! She likes to have fun on stage and hopes to bring the audience into that fun through her jokes that consist of a lot of weird noises, and pelvic thrusting. She is also thinking about starting a podcast.

Martin Amini 

Martin Amini was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. In the past 5 years Martin has performed at comedy clubs and colleges across the country. Martin has opened for touring headliners such as Trevor Noah, Jerrod Carmichael, and Jermaine Fowler. Martins stand up material touches on what it's like growing up mixed in America coming from an Iranian and Bolivian background. In the past year Martin has appeared in the Washington Post, Complex Magazine, and Revolt TV. See a clip on YouTube.

Herbie Gill 

Herbie Gill’s hard work and knack for presenting fresh new material earned him appearances on many stages and programs, including XM Radio, Comcast Cable, TBS' Daily Riff, PBS, Gilda's Club, and Local Point TV for ABC. Appearing at clubs, showcases and festivals across the country, his show proves he's ready to take his brand of comedy anywhere. With a shining personality, excellent stage presence and hilarious material, it's easy to see that Herbie's comedy stock is rising.

Pearl Rose 

Pearl Rose is a Washington, DC-based comedian. Originally from Minnesota, Pearl is a regular host at DC comedy clubs, opening for national headliners such as Joe List, Carmen Lynch, and Jon Dore. Pearl has also performed at several comedy festivals.
