Diagnostics for Advanced Improvisers

Three-hour Wednesday workshop. Instructor Stephanie Anderson (Second City Training Center) offers a workshop for experienced improvisers. Prerequisite needed.

  • Tuition: $60
  • Prerequisite: Completion of an improv program or permission of the instructor and comedy school principal.
  • All classes are 18 and over. Once payment is made, there are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations.
  • This workshop is limited to 16 people.


This workshop is for the seasoned improviser who would like to take their skills to the next level by identifying old habits and redefine the rules that have led to performance plateaus. Using Long and Short Form exercises- experienced improvisational actors will learn new techniques to spice up their performance and reignite their sense of play. Workshop participants will receive notes on strengths and individual feedback to improve specific performance challenges.


Stephanie Anderson

Stephanie Anderson is a writer, actor, director, improviser, and teacher in Chicago and a faculty member of The Second City Training Center. She began her comedy career taking classes at the DC Improv with Shawn Westfall a decade ago. She honed her skills in short and long-form improvisation by taking classes over the years with leading instructors from NYC (UCB, PIT), LA (Groundlings), and Chicago (Annoyance, iO). In DC, she taught and coached several improv troupes in the area, and was a member of Jive Turkey, Comedy SportzDC, WIT harold team Caveat, and The Score.

In 2012, Stephanie followed her passion for improvisational comedy to Chicago where improvises regularly with her iO harold team- Cecilia, and MAX A/C at the Chicago Improv Studio. In addition to touring as one-half of the improv/writing duo GIRLISH, she has written, performed, and directed several solo and ensemble sketch shows throughout Chicago and utilizes her improvisational foundation in the process. Stephanie’s love of teaching has led her around the country facilitating improv workshops for both actors and corporate audiences.
