(almost) SOLD OUT

Adele Givens(updated 3:30 p.m.) Long walks in the beautiful spring weather are nice, but remember this: While you're out sniffing flowers and doing random twirls, other people are buying up primo comedy tickets. Get tickets first, THEN frolick. This list is everything on our schedule that's trending toward sold out (or in some cases, the tickets are already gone). Lounge is 60 seats, main showroom is 285:

DCI Update: April 4

This Week At the Club

mspat On Wednesday night in the main showroom, the Next Wave series continues with Martin Moreno and Alfred Robles co-headlining. They are recommended to you by the great Gabriel Iglesias! Tickets just $17. Ms. Pat takes the stage Thursday through Sunday, making her second headlining appearance at the club. Great real-life stories, fun on-stage energy. If you're looking for some last-minute fun, check these shows out. $17 Thursday/Sunday, $20 Friday/Saturday. In the lounge, we've got a showcase of comedy school stand-up grads on Friday, and it's almost sold out ($10). Then there's a DMV showcase on Saturday night ($17).

New Shows

Internet sensation Ryan Davis makes his DC Improv debut on July 23. He's a stand-up (and his live show is stand-up), but like millions of people, you might have seen him commenting on pop culture on Facebook. Looking to the end of the summer, Tommy Davidson makes his return Labor Day weekend. Tickets for all of those shows are on sale now.

Around the Web

Jo Koy is getting a lot of buzz for his new Netflix special which debuted last week. We've got him on our calendar for August, so try before you buy ...

You can also see a few of our upcoming headliners on Hip Hop Squares, including DeRay Davis (who hosts the show). Here it is on the VH1 website.

(almost) SOLD OUT

Pablo FranciscoSpring is the time for love! So when you tell your date that you blew it and didn't get comedy tickets in time, that's going to ruin your season. This list is everything on our schedule that's trending toward sold out (or in some cases, the tickets are already gone). Lounge is 60 seats, main showroom is 285:

  • Pablo Francisco (March 30-April 2): There are 14 tickets left for Saturday 7:30, and we're past half full for the Saturday late show. We are also at about 60 percent capacity for the Friday early show.

DCI Update: March 28

This Week at the Club ...

Thursday through Sunday we've got a familiar face in town as Pablo Francisco returns for six shows.

In the lounge showroom, trivia night is back on Thursday. Then we've got a DMV showcase on Friday, that features Stavros Halkias and THREE comics from the RT America show "Redacted Tonight": Lee Camp, Naomi Karavani and John F. O'Donnell.

New Shows

tonyrockTony Rock is coming back in August, and tickets are now on sale. That's a long way off, but Tony is really, really good, so make a note on your calendar.

We've also got a bunch of lounge things going on. When Awesome Con returns to DC in June, we'll have some "Geek Night Comedy" shows on Friday. The short-form improv troupe Porkchop Volcano does a Thursday night show on April 20.

If you're in Culpeper ...

Naturally, you should come to the Improv every night we're open. But if you're out in the Culpeper area and you're aren't driving to DC on April 1, there's a cool comedy event in your neighborhood. The Library of Congress' Packard Campus is presenting a compilation of Richard Pryor's appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Those gigs were during the early stages of Pryor's career, when he was really developing his talent as a physical comedian. Here's the event listing.

(Next) Wave Power

Novak and LakerFor our 25th anniversary celebration, we wanted to celebrate the past and the future. So we asked amazing headliners to tell us about comedians that you need to see. Their choices then headline one of our showrooms in what we call the Next Wave series. We've already featured comics picked by Dave Attell, Ari Shaffir, John Oliver and Tony Rock.

This week, we expanded the series with shows picked by Mike Birbiglia! Jacqueline Novak and Chris Laker will co-headline our lounge this summer. (They were Mike's opening acts when he stopped in for two special shows on March 14.) Here's alll the upcoming Next Wave shows that are currently on sale.
