New Shows: Jessica Kirson and Toya Turnup

2019 is already looking great for Jessica Kirson. In January she records a special for Comedy Central, and Presidents Day weekend she's back to headline the DC Improv for a second year in a row. She's a GREAT performer -- and you might have spotted her on the recent episodes of "This Week at the Comedy Cellar."

We also have a plan for St. Patrick's Day. Jasmin Brown will be bringing her "Toya Turnup" character to town -- and Toya's stand-up shows have been selling out clubs around the country, so if you're interested be sure to plan ahead.

This Week at the Club: December 17-23

Michael Yo

Main Showroom: The week starts with graduation shows. Tuesday night is a free-admission improv class graduation; the show is at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7:30. Just be advised that we won't have the kitchen open, but you can order drinks at the bar if you like. On Wednesday it's a stand-up class graduation, with a $10 ticket. Showtime is 7:30.

Thursday night belongs to Die Laughing Productions, and they are bringing the Merry Murder Mystery to the club for a third year in a row. It sold out the first two times and we have less than 50 tickets remaining for this edition, so plan ahead. Seats are $19.

Friday and Saturday you can catch Michael Yo doing his thing. He just released a new comedy album ("Blasian") and you can hear him every weekday on SiriusXM -- he's got his own talkshow on the EW channel, plus he's a host of Hits1 in Hollywood. Tickets are $20 and there are two shows each night.

Lounge Showroom: We have some excellent stand-up showcases on Friday and Saturday featuring some top-flight performers from around the country. Tickets are $17 Friday and $20 Saturday.
