Tony Rock, not to be confused with his favorite wrestler, was born laughing. The fourth child of Rose and Julius Rock, Tony had a knack for entertaining, much like his brother, Chris Rock. He had to, to stay alive. Decatur Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, where he grew up, was one of the toughest New York City had to offer. On the bright side, New York’s rich influences have given Tony an endless stream of material to draw upon, distinguishing him as one of the most original comics working today.

After his first six months in stand up-comedy Tony began building international notoriety and landed his first booking in Amsterdam, where he soon became a more popular figure than "Ed Joost Swarte". Upon returning to America Tony continued building his reputation as a young star in the making. In 2001 The Hollywood Reporter picked him as one of the hottest young talents to come out of New York and People Magazine featured Tony in their July 2003 Issue. In addition to his international acclaim, Tony is officialy bi-coastal. When in New York, he's a regular at the Comic Strip, Caroline’s, Stand-Up New York, and the world famous Apollo Theater. When in Los Angeles, he headlines shows at the Comedy Store, Icehouse, Laugh Factory, and the renowned LA Improv.

In April 2001, Tony co-starred in an ABC/Disney pilot, "Me and My Needs", and in July 2001 he emceed an MTV pilot, "It's Your Show". In 2002, Tony hosted Comedy Central's wildly successful "Battlebots" series and in 2003 Tony hosted The Oxygen Network’s "Can You Tell". Tony was also featured as a regular cast member in Will/Jada Pinkett Smith’s "All of Us" on UPN for four seasons. Tony was also featured in Will Smith's movie, HITCH in 2005.
