A new generation of stars, recommended to you by DC Improv headliners. Jordan (Comedy Central, Netflix, Last Comic Standing) gets the nod from Tony Rock.

February 3-4lounge

In 2017, the DC Improv celebrates its 25th anniversary by remembering the past –- and looking to the future. The Next Wave series features rising stars, recommended to us (and you) by some of our favorite DC Improv headliners. These are performers that comedy fans will be talking about for years to come, and this is your chance to see them up close at one of the most respected comedy venues in America.

Jordan Rock started comedy at a very young age, joining several members of his famous family already in the business. He is currently starring in several Netflix features and has been seen on FX, “Last Comic Standing” and more. Jordan is recommended by Tony Rock, a DC Improv regular for more than a decade.

Jordan can currently be seen in the Netflix series LOVE, which Judd Apatow co-created and wrote with Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Jordan has also appeared on FX’s TOTALLY BIASED, GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE, and NBC’s LAST COMIC STANDING. Jordan recently wrapped the Netflix feature film SAN BERNARDINO BOUND, starring opposite Josh Peck and Tony Revolori.

Tony RockTony Rock has been headlining sold-out shows at the DC Improv for years, and this versatile entertainer has also had his share of success in front of the camera. (He was just in DC filming the upcoming "Couples' Night.") Tony has been running the show on the revamped “Apollo Live” while also taking his stand-up on the road. And his “40 Rock” web series take you behind the scenes at “All Def Comedy Live,” the weekly live standup showcase that Tony hosts for legendary producer Russell Simmons. Outside of the lights-camera-action, Tony works tirelessly as the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization established in honor of his late father, Julius.

Tony invited his brother Jordan along as his feature act at the DC Improv in January 2015, and now he recommends Jordan to you as part of the Next Wave series.
