How To Purchase Tickets
Tickets can be purchased over the phone or online with Symfonee Ticketing with the following credit cards: Visa, American Express, or Mastercard. There is a $3.00 service charge per ticket over the phone or online. Tickets are also available at the Box Office (no service fees apply in person) located inside The DC Improv. All pre-purchased tickets will be made available at the will call window the night of the performance.
Dress Code
The dress is casual.
Minimum Age
All shows are 18 and over.
Two Item Minimum
All shows require a two item minimum per person in the showroom. This can be any combination of food, drinks, coffee or dessert. All early shows offer dinner entrees and drinks (Tues-Thurs at 8:30 p.m., Fri-Sun 8:00 p.m.). Late shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. offer appetizers and drinks. Check our Menu!
Smoking
Effective January 1st, 2007, The DC Improv Comedy Club is completely non-smoking in all areas; including showroom, lobby and new lounge.
Showroom Seating
All early shows (Tues-Thurs at 8:30 p.m., Fri-Sun 8:00 p.m.) are first come first serve for seating. Doors open 90 minutes prior to showtime, you can arrive anytime once doors open. Late shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. are assigned seating according to reservation number (earlier you purchase tickets, better seats you will have). Tickets may be picked up for the late shows 1 hour before showtime. Seating begins at 10:00 p.m. for the late show. Due to crowd and noise control for all shows, large groups will not be seated in the front 2 rows.

T-shirts, Hats, Visors & Sweatshirts
DC Improv Logo Merchandise is available at the club or online in 4 different versions. All Improv logo merchandise will entitle you to FREE admission at The DC Improv every Tuesday until the end of time (Special Events excluded)! Buy them at the Improv Store!
Gift Certificates
Give the gift of laughter! Certificates may be purchased at any time over the phone, online or in person and may be made out for any denomination. The certificates may be used for tickets and/or food and drink inside the showroom. To redeem a gift certificate, please call us at 202.296.7008 or stop by the club and make a reservation for a specific comedian. Gift certificates are not redeemable online.
Metro
The DC Improv is only 1/2 block from the Farragut North Metro Station on the Red Line, one stop away from Metro Center. The metro is open until midnight every weekday and until 2:00 a.m. every Friday and Saturday.
Parking
Street parking is free on meters after 6:30 p.m., and there is a PMI parking lot next door that is $10.00. However, the PMI parking garage is NOT open on Sundays. There is another PMI parking lot on DeSales Street that is open on Sundays.
Open Mic Night
The Improv holds an open mic night on a monthly basis. If you are interested in particpating please mail in a video of your performance to Jay at the club and you will be contacted if chosen. For more info, you can email showcase@dcimprov.com
Party Packages and Group Rates
We do not offer any discounted group rate for tickets. However, there are a variety of packages available for our comedy shows. Just give us a call a (202) 296-7008 with the specifics (date, how many people, and food/drink requirements) and we will fill you in on all of the options. Find our rates here!
Room Rental & Hiring a Comic
The showroom at the DC Improv holds up to 300 people and is available for daytime or nighttime rentals with or without a comedy show. We also can bring a comedian to an outside location. The DC Improv Comedy Lounge
The DC Improv launched a second room in fall of 2006. If you are attending a Comedy Lounge Show, the entrance is located inside The DC Improv Comedy Club. Upon arrival you will see a frosted glass door in front of our ticket booth which will lead into the Lounge. Pre-purchased tickets will wait for you at the will call window for pick-up the evening of the show. Find out more here!
